Vernissage of the Diploma Exhibition by Tymoteusz Tryzno – 19.06.2023

I believe that one can experience a sense of belonging that is inclusive and open to diversity. In my thesis, I present two works in two different locations, which have become my main points of reference during my studies in Switzerland. These are: the Polish Museum in Rapperswil and the University in Lucerne (HSLU).

In a heart-shaped image, which I show as part of a group exhibition with friends from Lucerne, referring to the tradition of craft and historical art forms, I tried to express my emotional sense of belonging to an imagined national community. Sayings referring to the motif of the heart in the context of the colors of the Polish flag can refer to Polish historical experiences.

In a parallel exhibition in the library of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil, I will present a small publication containing photographs of parts of the bodies of volunteers working at the Museum, along with the authors’ comments justifying the decision to symbolically donate selected parts of the body to the Museum. In the library, I will also present my theoretical-poetic work on the relationship between the book and the body, executed in the form of a costume.
