The Polish sculptor Monika Sosnowska is one of the most renowned artists of our time. Her often large-scale sculptures and architectural installations made of steel, concrete, or other building materials engage with the legacy of modernism and its promises of social progress from an Eastern European perspective—and what remains of it.

Sosnowska grew up in socialist Poland and witnessed the country’s transformation into a democratic market economy after 1989. As an artist, she observed the associated changes in society and the environment that continue to resonate today. In addition to selected works from the past 20 years, the exhibition also features numerous previously unseen models and photographs from Sosnowska’s studio, providing a fascinating insight into her artistic process.
