For many years, women remained largely invisible in the world of architecture. Today, this is gradually changing: more and more female architects are coming forward with their individual style, vision, and professional perspective.
In this lecture, Eva Louis will reflect on her professional path between Kraków, Zurich, and the Appenzellerland. Through dedication and expertise, she has carved out a respected place in the Swiss architectural landscape.
Her presentation will focus on:
-
the opportunities and challenges she faced as a woman in architecture and design,
-
the broader struggle of women in the construction industry for recognition and professional equality,
-
and a personal reflection on the role of women in a traditionally male-dominated profession over the past four decades (1982–2022).
