In Memory of Danuta Miż-Miszyn
Danuta Miż-Miszyn (18 November 1949, Toulouse – 28 January 2026, Dielsdorf)
Last night, our beloved Danusia passed away.
She was the daughter of Halina Zielińska and Mammert Miż-Miszyn, and the granddaughter of Stanisław Zieliński. As a representative of the third generation of the Zieliński family, she was deeply connected to the history of our Museum and, through her dedication and work, became an enduring part of it.
After the death of her husband, the Museum became an important part of her everyday life. Every Thursday she would come to us, meticulously organizing and digitising the family archive, and supporting our work with heartfelt commitment and care.
Dear Danusia, this was not how it was meant to be. Just before Christmas, we had arranged to meet at the beginning of January. We were waiting for that meeting, for conversations and shared work. On the desk, the documents and photographs you prepared still lie — silent witnesses to your devoted efforts.
You will no longer come to us with your beloved dog Bonni, you will no longer bring your homemade cake for coffee, nor tell us about your work on your garden plot. We will deeply miss these small yet precious moments.
Your passing fills us with profound sadness. Your warmth, reliability, and devotion to the Museum will remain with us forever.
In the near future, we will dedicate a separate and more extensive tribute to your life and work.
We extend our deepest condolences to Barbara Goettgens.
With grateful remembrance and deep affection,
The Team of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil
