Exhibition: Tytus Brzozowski. 12 cities – Vernissage – September 18th, 2021
The POLONIKA Institute and the Polish Museum in Rapperswil invite you to the exhibition “Tytus Brzozowski. 12 cities”.
The vernissage will take place on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 at 5 p.m. in the Great Knight’s Hall in Rappeswil Castle.
It took Tytus Brzozowski half a year to paint a series of watercolors that the artist made especially for the POLONIKA Institute. On September 4, a unique exhibition will start, which will be available live (until October 3) in the rooms of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil.
At the Polish Museum, you will be able to see 13 paintings by Tytus Brzozowski. This is his artistic vision of the cities where you can find polonics: from Chicago and Padua, through Lviv, Tbilisi, to the charming and unique for the history of our country Rapperswil.
The author admits that working on a coherent series of paintings required a huge number of sketches. For him, not only each watercolor was important, but also the whole as a series without repetition or falling into a tedious pattern. The color scheme played an important role in building the mood of the subsequent works. Subdued Paris is completely different than colorful Vilnius or cool St. Petersburg. It was an important impulse for me to expand the palette – claims the watercolorist.
